Notification of Wednesday Outings

Members and guests are notified of the date, departure time and destination on the Friday morning immediately prior to the Wednesday outing. The notification is posted on the website in the Calendar on the Home Page and on the Club Information Line at 8:00 AM. Registration is open from 8:00 AM on Friday until 12 noon on the Sunday before the outing. A $25 bus fee is charged per person per trip, an additional $10 is charged per person per trip for outings to National Parks for those without a Park Pass.

Member Registration

Members register themselves by clicking on the Event Calendar on the Home Page. Members can only register themselves.

Members without email register by calling the Club’s Information Line: 403-259-0209 to hear a recorded message giving details of the outing. They record a message giving their name, phone number, and time and day of registration.

Members using Calgary Transit must call the Club’s Information Line: 403-259-0209 after they have registered and leave a message to indicate that they require pick up at the Crowfoot LRT Station.

Guest Registration

Guests register by calling the Club’s Information Line: 403-259-0209 to hear a recorded message giving details of the outing and inviting them to register for the outing. They record a message giving their name, phone number, and time and day of registration.

Guests using Calgary Transit must indicate that they require pick up at the Crowfoot LRT Station.

Seat Availability on the Bus

Registrations for the 55 seats on a bus is not first come, first served but rather by a lottery system if the number of registrations exceeds the bus capacity. A second bus is added whenever possible if the number of registrations exceeds 80.

Seating will be limited if there is insufficient registration for two buses. Seats are assigned based on the day and time of registration in order of priority as follows:

  • Members and prospective-member guests (maximum of 5 per outing)
  • Casual guests, and
  • Walk-ons.

Registration can be cancelled without penalty up until 12 noon on the Sunday before the outing by calling the Club’s Information Line Anybody who cancels after 12 noon must pay a no-show fee equal to the bus fare on their next outing. No-show fees are paid by enclosing cash or cheque in a sealed envelope marked with the amount payable and the date of the missed outing.

Members and guests are notified by phone if there is no space for them on the bus.

On Sunday afternoon an email is sent to members and a recorded message is posted on the Club’s Information Line with an update regarding participation and the opportunity for walk-ons at the Pick Up location on the day of the outing.
