Skiing:

  1. Group :”A” Skiers: Begin at east end of upper parking lot and choose either: go Right on Fairview to Moraine Lake Road or straight ahead on Tramline to Moraine Lake Road. Once at the junction of Moraine Lake Road go south-west as far as time permits. Have lunch and return on Moraine Lake Road to tramline then descend Tramline to Samson Mall  (Village Lake Louise). Distance +/- 18km.
  2. Group “B” Skiers: Begin at the east end of the upper parking lot. Ski down Tramline to Moraine Lake Road . Once at the junction of Moraine Lake Road go south-west as far as time permits. Have lunch and return on Moraine Lake Road to Tramline then descend Tramline to Samson Mall  (Village Lake Louise). Distance +/-15 km.
  3. Group “C” Skiers: Begin at the east end of the upper parking lot. Ski down Tramline to Moraine Lake Road . Once at the junction of Moraine Lake Road go south-west as far as time permits (likely Paradise Bridge). Return on Moraine Lake Road to Tramline (Have lunch at a place of your choosing) then descend Tramline to Samson Mall  (Village Lake Louise). Distance +/- 8 km. Bus pick-up time is 3:00 pm. NOTE: If the descent to Village Lake Louise is too daunting you may return up Tramline to the Chateau parking lot, where the bus will be parked. You may be early enough to enjoy the comforts of the Chateau. Bus departure time from the upper parking lot is 2:45 pm.

Snowshoeing:

Groups A and B1+

Starting in the Village, Louise Creek up to the Chateau, Highline (and return to Chateau) and, if time/conditions permit, Mirror Lake, return via Horse Trail. Pick up at Chateau. Distance is 11.8 to 17.6km, elevation gain 255 to 550m.

Group B1

Starting from Chateau, Mirror Lake, return via Horse Trail, and down trails 27 and Louise Creek to the Village. Distance is 11km, 295m of elevation gain.

Groups B2+ and B2

Starting from Chateau,  Highline trail with return to the Chateau via Moraine Lake Road and Tramline. Distance is 10km, elevation gain of 100m.

Group C1

Starting from the Chateau, follow Louise Creek down to the Village, then Bow River Loop. Distance is up to 9.4km, or AFATP, elevation loss of 195m.

Group C2

Starting from the Chateau, follow the Lakeshore trail to the end of the Lake, or AFATP, and return. Pick at Chateau. Distance is up to 4km, minimal elevation gain.
