On Wednesday January 19, we will be going to Peter Lougheed Provincial Park. The Pocaterra Hut has a maximum capacity of 27 and its suggested you only stay for 20 minutes at a time. You can use the Visitors Centre but you cannot linger.
Washroom stop – Mount Kidd (go in the back door)
The bus will stay at the PL Visitors centre
Departure Time: 8:00
Pick-up times: Elk Pass 2:45 PL Visitors Centre 3:00 Pocaterra Hut 3:15
Please remember that all people getting on the bus must adhere to the club’s covid guidelines which can be found here.
A – Skiers: Drop off at Elk Pass. Skiers can ski up to Elk Pass, then connect onto Tyrwhitt and continue on to Pocaterra. You can stop at the visitors centre or continue on to Pocaterra Hut.
B – Skiers: Drop off at Boulton parking lot. From there you can go on Packers or Wheeler and connect with the Pocaterra trail to the hut.
C – Skiers: Drop off at the PL visitors centre. You can ski the Meadows trail and join up with Sinclair and Lodgepole. From there you can decide if you want to do more or less.
A – Snowshoers: Can be dropped of at Elk Pass. Snowshoe Torpor, connect to Frozen Toad and do the loop connecting with the other side of the Torpor Loop. This is approximately 11KM.
B – Snowshoers: Drop off at PL visitors centre. Start on Canyon trail, to the Penstock Loop. At the junction you can either go to the left and join the Tailwater trail to the Pocaterra hut or you can go to the right and connect to the Canyon trail and back to the visitors centre. This is approximately 8 KM. If time permits you can do some of the Lower Lake trails if you desire.
C – Snowshoers: Drop off at Pl visitors centre. Start on Canyon trail. Before the dam turn right and go .2 KM, turn right and go .3 KM and connect to Tailwater this will take you to the Pocaterra Hut for approximately 4 KM.
